Extreme Rematch with Spartans on the Road
BLOOMINGTON, (Ill.)—This Friday at 7:30 p.m. the Bloomington Extreme (5-5) will face-off against the La Crosse Spartans (1-8) at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wis. With only four games left in the regular season, this game is integral to the playoff hopes for the Extreme.
This will be the second meeting between Bloomington and La Crosse this season. In the previous match-up, the Extreme overwhelmed the Spartans in a 54-18 victory at the US Cellular Coliseum. Extreme quarterback Rocky Hinds threw for three touchdowns on 16-of-21 passing for 123 yards with one interception in the contest. Bernard Payton played his best game of the year against the Spartans, racking up 73 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.
La Crosse will be coming off a BYE week and looks to rally at home against Bloomington. Spartan quarterback Gary Rivera did the most damage to the Extreme in the previous meeting. Rivera completed 18-of-31 passing for 134 yards and one interception, and rushed 12 times for 56 yards. However Bloomington’s defense contained the La Crosse offense for the majority of the game.
Fans in Bloomington can watch the game live via a b2 broadcast at Hooters located on 409 North Hershey. Game starts at 7:30 PM, and Hooters will be giving away Extreme prizes throughout the night
