BLOOMINGTON (Ill.) – Bloomington Extreme Defensive Lineman, Shemiah LeGrande, has signed with the Hartford Colonials of the UFL.
LeGrande, compiled 38 tackles and 2 sacks, while forcing 2 fumbles while playing 9 games for the Extreme defense this season. LeGrande spent the 2008 season with the Detroit Lions of the NFL. LeGrande was on injured reserve throughout the season and spent 2009 training camp with the Arizona Cardinals of the NFL. The Staten Island, NY native was named to the 2nd Team All-Colonial Conference team following a season in which he produced 38 tackles (7.5 for loss) and 3 quarterback sacks for Hofstra University.

Shemiah LeGrande’s signing with the UFL marks the 10th player from the Bloomington Extreme to sign a contract in the NFL, Canadian Football League, or the UFL over the past two seasons (2009-2010).
Defensive Lineman Quince Holman will return from injury for the June 5 game at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum versus the West Michigan Thunderhawks and will fill LeGrande’s roster spot.
